| Essay | The applicant must submit an essay of more than 2,000 words for the promotion test. The theme may be chosen by the applicant as long as it relates to the subject of promotion to a higher Dan. |

| Number of Region 2 Tournaments *counts toward total number of regional events | 1 – Region 2 Championship is required for the entire duration of time spent as a Cho Dan as a competitor, volunteer, or judge. |
| Number of TAC Clinics *counts toward total number of regional events | 1 TAC event is required for the entire duration of time spent as a Cho Dan. |
