About Us
We are Tang Soo Do martial arts practitioners with the World Tang Soo Do Association in Region 2 (Arizona, Colorado, western Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and southern Idaho). Tang Soo Do is a striking style of martial arts utilizing hand strikes, kicks, blocks, and joint locks as a means of defense against strikes and grabs. Tang Soo Do is known for building character within its participants as it teaches respect for self and others.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to assist World Tang Soo Do (WTSDA) members with Tang Soo Do training and assist our WTSDA club and studio owners.
Each state may have many WTSDA certified studios and clubs, each studio and club may have many certified WTSDA members. Region 2 supports the entire region with training, guidance, and growth.
The region serves a similar purpose as studios and clubs – to assist and provide support to all WTSDA members within the region, ensuring that all WTSDA members are partnered with a certified WTSDA studio or club for continued growth. This is done by collectively drawing all studios, clubs, and its members together, many times during the year for WTSDA professional training.
Senior Master 6th Dan - Regional Director
Master Williamson began his journey in martial arts during his teenage years, and he’s been on an incredible adventure ever since. After completing his first year of college, he joined the United States military, where, for 20 years, he got to travel the world.
During his time stationed at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, in the 1980s, he achieved his Black Belt in Tang Soo Do under the guidance of Master Vance Britt. Then, he ventured to Germany, where he opened his first WTSDA Tang Soo Do school, marking the beginning of a remarkable chapter in his martial arts career.
While in Europe, Master Williamson continued to enhance his skills, training with experts like Klaus Trogerman from Germany and Tony Lee from the Netherlands. He even explored the art of Aikido while traveling the globe. While in Germany for four years, he proudly established three World Tang Soo Do Schools, and upon his return to the States, he opened seven more in Arizona.
Not only is Master Williamson a martial arts enthusiast, but he’s also a scholar, holding two Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Finance, along with an MBA in Business Operations. As a dedicated owner of multiple World Tang Soo Do studios, he’s known not only for his expertise in martial arts and business leadership but also for his tireless efforts to combat bullying. He’s authored three books on the subject and founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching anti-bullying strategies and training instructors. In addition to his military service and academic achievements, Master Williamson is a retired adjunct professor, a respected 20-year military veteran, a board-certified senior master karate instructor, and a licensed bully prevention expert. His passion for stopping the harmful effects of bullying is unmatched, making him a true champion in the fight against this vicious cycle.
